GREECE, NY— Greenlight Networks, a FTTH provider in New York State, and the Town of Greece announced that nearly 2,900 Greece residents now have access to Greenlight’s FTTH internet service. Greenlight has completed construction and is actively installing service in the Janes/Kirk (phase 1), Dorsey and Hampton/Latta Greenlight Districts.
Greenlight also announced that is starting construction to expand it high-speed fiber-optic network to 3,400 additional households in parts of Greece. Construction is already underway in the Greenlight Districts of Janes/Kirk Phase 2 and Stone Ridge and the company plans to start construction in Ridgemont East and Barnard North in the coming months.
Building Greenlight’s fiber network involves significant design, planning and construction work to lay hundreds of miles of new fiber-optic cable, which supports much higher data transmission speeds than traditional networks. Greenlight worked with several departments within the Town of Greece during the construction process to help facilitate its fiber network expansion. Monroe County residents can view their Greenlight District and status on the company’s interactive map at https://www.greenlightnetworks.com/neighborhood-status/.
