  • The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS)
SPRINGFIELD, IL - The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is looking for a sales and marketing business partner for its high-speed telecommunications network, Illinois Century Network (ICN). The Bureau of Communication and Computer Services (BCCS) at CMS has issued an RFI to collect information that will help CMS develop a Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage potential business partners. Prospective sales and marketing partners are encouraged to register on the Illinois Procurement Bulletin and select “Illinois BID” to view the request for information (RFI). CMS will issue notices regarding the RFI to all registered businesses/individuals.

Since August 2010, ICN has been undergoing a $96 million expansion, resulting in a network that will consist of 2,300 miles of high-capacity fiber optics to continue to support its core customers: Illinois schools, higher education institutions, libraries, museums, research institutions, State agencies, local government units, and wholesale and retail service providers.

CMS, through ICN, provides reliable and enhanced broadband availability, brings broadband to underserved communities and promotes economic development through broadband across Illinois. The sales and marketing partner will have exclusive rights to sell and market broadband capacity on the Illinois Century Network, including broadband capacity via Ethernet or Wave circuits as well as dark fiber strands, to wholesale and retail service providers in Illinois.
