DAHLGREN, IL – Hamilton County Communications (HCC), a coop formed to create an effective communications system for rural residents in Southeastern Illinois, announced that it has switched to the APMAX Middleware solution from Innovative Systems as a means of offering competitive new functionality to its customers.
"Given the significant importance of the DVR in the subscriber’s home, we felt having the best functionality available is critical and in our opinion the Innovative solution will help us achieve that goal," said Steve Drenner, HCC's IPTV administrator. He finds that user features like folders for individual storage of programs for each household member give HCC a competitive edge with consumers. Additional strong selling points include access to apps and program guide features like the weather app with the APMAX Weather Plus service, and the ability to go back in time in the program guide to find new record times for programs that they have missed.
Remote Service Resolution
On the subscriber management side, Drenner reports positive and quick resolution in customer service configurations. In one case a customer was having trouble turning on the closed captions and the HCC CSR was able to use the APMAX Virtual Remote to solve the issue without sending out a service truck. This remote feature will reduce their annual expenses and allow for quicker resolution of customer service issues.
