Johnson City Power Board Seeks Telco to Run FTTH Network

JOHNSON CITY, TN - According to local press reports, the Johnson City Power Board, a Tennessee municipal utility, is seeking a third-party provider to offer Internet and telephone services over its fiber network. The utility is building the network to support its planned smart-grid applications but will also make the network available to residences and businesses for communications services.

Interested parties should contact the JCPB for details. The deadline for questions is Dec. 19 at 5 p.m., and the RFQ response deadline is Jan. 13 at 4 p.m.
