Lancaster, Penn., Launches LanCity Connect Residential Fiber Network

LANCASTER, PA — LanCity Connect is a community-based broadband solution connecting friends, neighbors, and local businesses to the Internet. Brought to you by city of Lancaster, and powered by MAW Communications, LanCity Connect is a unique partnership that will bring high speed, affordable Internet access to the individuals who live, work, and play in Lancaster. This fiber to the home network will offer residential and business Internet connectivity at symmetrical speeds of up to 1 Gbps.

LanCity Connect will offer four tiers of service, with a minimum of 50 Mbps up to 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) connections. The cost of the service will depend on the desired bandwidth needs, which is a combination of the desired speed and the number of connected devices in your household. Residential Internet services will be offered in prices from $35 to $90/month. A subsidized rate will be offered to low-income residents. The company plans to add business customers in the second half of 2017.

Residents can pre-register for Lancity Connect services through Between now and December 31, 2017, installation fees will be waived for anyone who pre-registers for the service. Also, this fall the company will launch the Early Adopter Pilot program for a limited number of residents, which offers three months of free usage and free installation to residents in exchange for participation in critical customer feedback surveys during the pilot period.
