Lit San Leandro Links Up With U Cal Startup Accelerator

SAN LEANDRO, CA - Lit San Leandro, a new fiber optic network that provides services to businesses in the city of San Leandro, Calif., is constructing a direct fiber link to Berkeley Skydeck at the nearby University of California, Berkeley. Berkeley Skydeck is a startup accelerator and technology entrepreneurship center operated by the university and deeply integrated into its research, educational and service programs. It is emerging as a beacon of the Berkeley local entrepreneurial ecosystem anchored by UC Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.

Lit San Leandro considers relationships with major academic institutions as part of its commitment to innovation. The LSL project team comments, "When the [Berkeley Skydeck] innovators have some great idea, they will be able to build it in San Leandro."
