VANCOUVER, BC — The city of Rossland, BC has selected Lite Access Technologies' subsidiary, DSG Communications (DSG), to install a fiber optic network. Using Lite Access' proprietary micro-trench and air blown fiber optic technologies this backbone will connect an existing fiber optic network owned and operated by the Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation (CBBC) and stretch throughout the city of Rossland.

This expansion is part of a larger, Province-wide connectivity initiative dubbed the "Connecting BC" program, created to provide high speed connectivity to 100 percent of BC residents by 2021, about which BC Premier Christie Clark says "With more growth taking place in rural and remote communities, it's crucial they have access to the world's most powerful tool to connect, learn, find information and to compete in the global economy. High-speed Internet service should be available to everyone in the province, and we're committed to expanding service to every British Columbian."

Beginning with the Columbia Mountain Open Networks and its numerous communities in south eastern British Columbia, Lite Access' products have been used for many other municipalities in Western Canada including QNet — in Coquitlam, BC, the Township of Langley, BC, Delta, BC, Banff and Waterton, Alberta, to name a few.

"We are very pleased that the Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation has once again chosen to work with DSG and Lite Access," said Dylan Griffiths, CEO of DSG. "The CBBC, through providing high speed connectivity, has been doing an exemplary job of connecting citizens, enabling businesses to remain competitive in a global economy, supporting education, and helping to attract and retain youth to the communities they serve. We look forward to continuing to expand our relationship with the CBBC in the months and years to come."
