RICHMOND, BC — Lite Access Technologies, a provider of microduct and fiber optic technologies, has successfully completed a trial fiber-to-the-home deployment for TELUS for 97 units in Powell River, British Columbia. The company's wholly owned subsidiary, DSG Communications, utilized its air-blown fiber, microduct and micro-trenching solutions to ensure seamless connectivity from the backbone direct to customer premises with minimum disruption to the surroundings and residents of Powell River during the project.

TELUS requested the trial of Lite Access' fiber deployment solutions in an effort to better address the rapidly growing high-speed connectivity demand, which requires fast, minimally disruptive, and cost-effective deployment strategies which are suitable for any FTTH project.

Michael Plotnikoff, CTO of Lite Access, stated, "This Powell River trial was very important to Lite Access as it provided a proving ground for TELUS to carefully evaluate whether our technology could meet their stringent requirements and therefore potentially factor into their future fiber deployment strategy. The fiber-to-the-premise sector is growing exponentially, we are exceptionally pleased that the success of this trial will enable Lite Access to offer faster and more cost effective fiber deployment solutions to Canadian Telcos."
