STOCKHOLM - Jalur Lebar Nasional Sdn Bhd (Jalenas), a state government-backed, open-access network in Malaysia, chose the BECS network provisioning and BBE business process automation systems from PacketFront Software Solutions to support its nationwide network rollout. The implementation is to be done in partnership with Metroverse Sdn Bhd.
Jalenas was formed in 2007 to design, build, own and operate fiber optic broadband networks with bandwidth of up to 100 Mbps. The company expects bandwidth requirements to soon increase to 1 Gbps.
Jalenas is backed by the Pahang state government and is the only nationwide scale provider of open access in Malaysia today. The company's target is to connect 2.5 million homes and offices by 2016. It has already started deployment in the city of Kuantan and is now aiming to connect Johor Bahru by end of 2012.
PacketFront Software Solutions provides automated service management for broadband networks. It specializes in support for open-access networks. One hundred operators in 22 countries are using PacketFront's BECS software.
