MaxxSouth Expands Gigabit Fiber Service in Oxford and Starkville, Mississippi

OXFORD, MS — Just in time for the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University students to return, MaxxSouth Broadband finalized the upgrade of its network to provide up to 1 Gbps broadband services to all of Oxford and to Starkville's surrounding areas. This upgrade will provide students and these communities with significant speed increases, enabling residents to connect to the internet faster.

Docsis 3.1 Technology Combined with Existing FTTH Services
Using Docsis 3.1 technology, combined with the existing fiber-to-the-home services that MaxxSouth launched last year, the company now offers all Oxford residents and numerous Starkville areas access to 1 Gbps internet speeds. The service is dramatically faster than the average speed of internet connection in the country and is available at a competitive price.

The company also announced that the towns of Bruce, Calhoun City, Derma, Houston and Vardaman now have access to the 1 Gbps broadband service, as part of MaxxSouth's network enhancements.
