Metroplex Brings Gigabit Internet to Addison, Texas

ADDISON, TX — In the wake of the FCC recently redefining broadband Internet service as 25 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up, Metroplex Communications, which has been providing high speed Internet and telephony services to businesses in and around Addison since 2014, has unveiled a plan to bring gigabit Internet access to businesses in Addison and its surrounding communities. The Metroplex Gigabit Broadband Internet Service, "GigaNet," will make gigabit speeds available to approximately 5,000+ businesses along a high-capacity fiber optic network that covers Addison and a large portion of the surrounding areas.

Metroplex's GigaNet Broadband Service "delivers a speed the vast majority of Americans can only dream of using," says Alex Vickers, CEO of Metroplex Communications. "Metroplex will make GigaNet (gigabit Internet access) available to the majority of its customers by the end of 2015.

"With the FCC recently redefining Broadband Internet Service as 25 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up, DSL and T1's are no longer considered 'broadband' Internet. This leaves cable Internet the only broadband choice for most businesses in Addison. Cable Internet is handicapped, unable to provide symmetrical Internet service that modern businesses require. We solve that problem starting with our popular 25 Mbps by 25 Mbps MetroNet service," says Vickers.

Community growth is the driving force behind the Metroplex's fiber deployment. Metroplex's GigaNet broadband service will lead to improved economic development, education and quality of life in Addison, creating an innovation hotbed for entrepreneurs," says Michael Eber CTO of Metroplex Communications. "Work on the Metroplex GigaNet broadband service has begun and buildout will continue into the summer of 2015."
