Mexcap Closes Equity Investment in InnerCity FiberNet

Mexcap, an international investment firm providing private equity and technical expertise to communications companies located in the American Southwest and Mexico, announced an equity investment in and recapitalization of InnerCity FiberNet (ICFN).

ICFN is a Dallas based fiber-optic infrastructure provider enabling high-speed, high-reliability, cost-effective connectivity solutions for enterprise business, education, data center, carrier, cloud and content companies over its proprietary metro fiber-optic network in Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW). ICFN’s deep fiber-optic network in DFW provides metro ethernet, metro dark fiber, custom network solutions and fiber construction services.

Tom Spackman, managing director of Mexcap, will assume the role of chairman of ICFN. “ICFN has been methodically growing their deep fiber infrastructure in the greater Dallas area for over 20 years. Today, ICFN provides mission-critical fiber infrastructure for many of the area’s largest enterprises and carriers. I have lived in Dallas for over 30 years and am excited to join the ICFN team to assist and accelerate their continued success in serving the communication needs of enterprises and carriers in our vibrant community.”
