Motorola Ships One Million ONTs

HORSHAM, PA -- Motorola Inc. Home & Networks Mobility - a major equipment supplier  for Verizon's FiOS build - celebrates a milestone, shipping its one millionth optical network terminal (ONT). Motorola ONTs are customer-premises equipment used in FTTH networks worldwide.

Motorola began shipments of ONTs in 2004 and now offers a portfolio of international ONTs designed for single-family units, multiple-dwelling units (MDUs) and small businesses. Enabled by the AXS2200 and AXS1800 optical line terminals (OLTs), Motorola’s ONTs deliver symmetrical Internet connectivity in hundreds of megabits per second as well as high-definition TV and video on demand.
