New Microcore Cable From AFL

  • Fiber Cable
AFL Telecommunications introduced a new 24-count, 3.8 mm interconnect premises MicroCore Cable to its fiber optic cable line. The company says this cable design provides a very small package supporting multiple channels at the highest data rates. Coupling the cable with an array-type connector (MTP/MPO) achieves a very high level of connectivity density in a small footprint.

To minimize the cable’s diameter, multiple colored 250 µm fibers and aramid strands are packaged in a high-performance PVC jacket, avoiding the issues that arise with preferential bend radius in ribbon cable designs. Both simplex and zipcord designs are available, with fiber counts from 8 to 24.
