Occam Networks Adds New Business and Residential ONTs

SANTA BARBARA, CA – Broadband access supplier Occam Networks announced three new optical network terminals (ONTs) for business and residential subscribers. These new ONTs provide intelligent, high-bandwidth transport, fiber line termination and high-quality voice performance.

The Occam ON 2501, ON 2534 and ON 2568 complement Occam’s suite of GPON and Gigabit Ethernet ONT products and are optimized to deliver services such as traditional telephone, high-speed data and entertainment services when deployed with the BLC 6322 GPON optical line terminal.

Product features include:

• Connectivity for business applications, such as MEF-8 compliant DS-1 circuit emulation services for business applications.


• Native support for RF Return to power interactive entertainment services.


• Carrier Ethernet service demarcation.


• Deployment flexibility: Occam’s new ONTs can be deployed in a wide range of environments including single family residences, small-to-medium businesses and multiple dwelling/multiple tenant units (MDU/MTUs). The ON 2501 is optimized for indoor deployment, while the ON 2534 and ON 2568 are hardened for challenging outdoor environments.


• Simple provisioning of predefined services such as Carrier Ethernet, voice, Internet, gaming and IPTV to accelerate time to revenue.
