BLAIR, NE — Great Plains Communications, an independent communications provider in the state of Nebraska, has launched fiber technology services to the Orpheum Theater and the Holland Center. Construction began in the summer and was completed in October, making the company the exclusive technology provider to Omaha Performing Arts
Todd Foje, CEO of Great Plains Communications, said, “Omaha Performing Arts is one of the city’s greatest assets. Not only do they bring us engaging performances, they mentor and educate area youth through the arts, and support the economy by bringing thousands of annual visitors to Omaha. We believe our services will be instrumental in assisting the organization in its mission of being ‘a vibrant destination for extraordinary experiences that engage, inspire and connect,’ and we are proud to be their technology partner.”
Maximizing Connectivity Services
The fiber-based services include high-speed Internet at both locations, managed Ethernet connections between the Orpheum and Holland Center, connectivity to the Scott Data Center, dedicated internet access, and SIP trunks for voice. All Omaha Performing Arts services will be monitored locally at the Great Plains Communications TL-9000 certified Network Operations Center in Blair, Nebraska.
“These new high-speed, secure services from Great Plains Communications help Omaha Performing Arts maximize Internet, Ethernet, and other connectivity services to the highest level,” Joan Squires, President of Omaha Performing Arts said. “Their services are much needed as we continue to provide extraordinary experiences in our two great venues.”
