OmniTel Awards Broadband Stimulus Project to ADTRAN

  • OmniTel Communications
HUNTSVILLE, AL - OmniTel Communications, an independent telephone company serving 14 communities in northern Iowa, providing ultra broadband Internet service via Total Access broadband platform from ADTRAN. As a RUS grant winner in the national Broadband Stimulus program, OmniTel is also helping carry out the statewide initiative of the Iowa Broadband Deployment Governance board by making sure that no customer is left behind and that high-speed broadband service is available in rural areas of the state. ADTRAN’s FTTH solution is enabling OmniTel to deliver high-speed connectivity for customers who previously only had access to dial-up Internet service and provide digital voice and video services for over 7,000 subscribers across the state.

In answer to the growing demand from residential customers for super-premium services, OmniTel Communications turned to ADTRAN to help deliver its next-generation services profitably and with an ultra-low cost of ownership. ADTRAN’s FTTH solutions offer service-aware provisioning and virtually unlimited network bandwidth, allowing OmniTel to expand its addressable market with maximum flexibility. Utilizing Active Ethernet technology, OmniTel is also able to deliver end-to-end Ethernet connectivity to maximize end-user revenue opportunities today and in the future.
