LONDON, UK - Openreach, the access-network division of British incumbent telco BT, announced that, next month, retail service providers would be able to offer fiber-to-the-home services at 80/20 Mbps, 330/20 Mbps and 330/30 Mbps. An FTTP 220Mbps product will be launched next year.
The two upload speeds for 330 Mbps download product are designed to suit the needs of residential customers and small businesses respectively.
Openreach is offering the 330/20 Mbps service at a discounted price until January 2013 to encourage communications providers to test high-bandwidth services in the home environment. Users can be upgraded remotely from current service levels.
