Pacific Broadband Networks Introduces GigE and RFoG Platforms

  • FTTH
  • RFoG
ALMERE, THE NETHERLANDS – Broadband solutions provider Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN) launched two new fiber platforms, the Ultimate P2P Advanced Communications Mainframe (AOCM6000) for the FTTH market and the Highest Density Headend Platform AIMA3000 (Advanced Intelligent Multi-Services Access) for the MSO market.

“Launching these two new platforms is an exciting milestone for PBN. By having the highest-density platform in the market in our product portfolio, PBN is on pole position in the HFC market. With the Ultimate P2P Platform, we expand our opportunities to install FTTx worldwide, and more specifically in EMEA”, says Gerhard Nederlof, president of PBN. “The launch shows we have been listening carefully to our customers and market. Both platforms meet today's and future multiservices access requirements for upgrading current and building new networks.”

The AIMA3000 platform is designed to simplify MSOs' transitions to IP networks with a complete solution for HFC, RFoG, xPON Video Overlay and other applications. It is the highest-density headend platform available, with 16 single, dual or quad application modules in one 4RU chassis. Additional features include:

· Low power consumption per transmitter receiver link saves opex

· Hot-swappable application modules with auto-config feature through management module

· Integrated front and rear fiber access panel for easy fiber management

· Plug-and-play modules with blind RF-connectors to allow module maintenance without disconnecting the cable.

The AOCM6000 is an ultra-high-density wirespeed platform that provides Gigabit Ethernet services with full interface control and redundancy for up to 336 subscribers per chassis. Its passive backplane, which supports 2.4T switching fabric and aggregation, ensures congestion-free switching for all ports. Additional features include:

· Layer 2/3/4 high-performance aggregation switch/router with automation for fast commissioning and low opex

· Supports 336 ports at 1Gbps and 8 at 10Gbps with full hardware and link redundancy

· Shelf management by NMS-EPSM software for monitoring and control via network (CLI, SNMP and HTTP).
