PBN Releases PM121 1GE EPON ONU (CPE)

Almere, The Netherlands — PBN released its new PM121, a cost effective 1GE EPON ONU, (customer premises equipment for fiber to terminate in the home). The PM120 is a compact gateway (W:115 x D:75 x H:28 cm), offering the most essential features for optical to electrical conversion. It is the newest series of fiber termination units within PBN’s FTTH CPE product line.

The PM120 is Gigabit EPON ONU compliant according the IEEE802.3ah. standard. The PM120 acts as a Layer-2 Ethernet switch, which is highly reliable and easy to maintain and support. Offering powerful features such as QoS, IGMP, OinQ, TR69, etc. Due to the support of non-proprietary standards the PM120 is easy to configure, activate and to manage. This all via PBN’s NMS-EPSM software suite.

Optionally, the PM120 can be delivered with a CATV-Overlay receiver including remote management (CATV On/Off) and AGC to ensure a standard output level of 80dBuV at the customers premises. The PM120 is especially designed for use in combination with a subscriber’s local router / WiFi Access point, offering a clear demarcation point at the customer premises. The PM120 can be used within SDU and MDU applications.
