ALPHARETTA, GA - Fibrant, the fiber-to-the-home network operator of the city of Salisbury, N.C., has selected Amino Communications IPTV set-top boxes for the next phase of its deployment.

Amino has worked with Fibrant since 2009. The new contract phase will include the delivery of Aminet A540 PVR devices to deliver high-speed broadband access, entertainment services and local content.

Amino Communications Director of Sales for North America Dan Carufel comments, “The City of Salisbury is making great strides in delivering fiber to the home and a powerful package of high-speed broadband, phone and television services. The A540 came through a rigorous selection process to become Fibrant’s new DVR offering.”

Though Fibrant has generated some controversy in Salisbury, Tuesday's election returned the full slate of Fibrant supporters to the City Council - indicating that the city is likely to continue operating the fiber network.
