Sticklers Offers an IPA Replacement for Fiber Optic Cleaning

NEW BRITIAN, CT — Sticklers has launched Sticklers Fiber Optic Splice & Connector Cleaner, an IPA replacement for fiber optic cleaning. 

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, many more people are working from home, increasing demand for reliable, fast data. As a result networks use is reaching an all-time high. It is therefore vital that fiber network connections are clean to allow them to operate at optimum levels. This however is proving problematic to some fiber optic network installers using IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) cleaning products.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends using cleaners made of at least 70% alcohol to disinfect surfaces. This has led to a widespread surge in global demand for IPA with much of it diverted for use in hospitals and other medical settings. As a result fiber optic network engineers are facing a shortage of IPA fluid used for cleaning their splices and connections.

Perhaps now is the ideal time to upgrade to a better alternative and use a pure optical grade cleaning fluid.”
