ALMERE, THE NETHERLANDS – The community of Gaiserwald, Switzerland has selected PBN’s AOCM6000 FTTH platform and PM520 GEPON CPE for its upcoming network extension starting early 2016.
Eight years ago, the community of Gaiserwald began its rollout of its first FTTB-services to its citizens offering a wide range of service selections including analogue TV. The community of Gaiserwald was also one of the first in Switzerland offering high-speed Internet services via fiber. The initial system was deployed using PBN’s OCMR platform. Recently Gaiserwald decided to upgrade and to extend their FTTB network to FTTH using PBN’s AOCM6000 headend platform in combination with PBN’s PM520 GEPON CPEs. During the upgrade, the services will be extended with an IPTV offering which will leverage the high-speeds available into each subscriber’s home.
The AOCM6000 solution from PBN is a modular and carrier-grade communication platform, supporting P2P and P2MP technologies in a single chassis. Managed and provisioned by PBN’s NMSE activation and diagnostics suite, the PM520 Home Gateway will be used to terminate services in each subscriber’s home. “NMSE allows the operator to active, diagnose and change services for its subscribers from a single screen. Even PBN’s CATV overlay systems are managed on the same software package,” Pieter Dhondt, sales director for PBN.
For the actual deployment of the solution and the continued support, Gaiserwald selected HP-Hardegger, a long-term partner of PBN with a proven track-record of successfully deploying FTTH networks.
