AUSTIN, TX — Tri-County Telephone Association, a Kansas-based independent telephone company, (TCT) has utilized Calix Professional Services to upgrade its fiber network across eight Kansas counties. Armed with the Calix GPON Migration Service, TCT embarked on a project to bring new and enhanced broadband services to its subscribers by upgrading its legacy PON technology to the Calix E7-2 Intelligent Modular System. Calix Services’ expertise allowed TCT to take advantage of increased operational efficiencies and achieve a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) through consolidating all services onto a single E7-2 enabled fiber network. TCT engaged Calix Services for design, planning, and configuration tools, as well as field-proven practices. Through Calix Services, TCT significantly decreased the amount of time taken to physically migrate subscribers to new GPON technology — in some cases by 98 percent when compared to traditional manual approaches.

Field-proven Processes
Calix Services’ unique approach to technology migration involves field-proven processes, extensive access and cloud expertise, and automated tools calibrated to each service provider’s environment. Subscriber service profiles are automatically translated for unparalleled accuracy and services are tested post-cutover to prevent subscriber downtime.
