UPN Announces Extensive Fiber Network Expansion in Nebraska

OMAHA, NE — Unite Private Networks (UPN) announced a major fiber-optic network expansion in Nebraska. The nearly 600 mile route will create new diverse metro rings in Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding communities throughout central and eastern Nebraska. The network is the result of several anchor customers including macro and small cell deployment projects for a major wireless carrier.

"When the expansion is complete, UPN will have over 2,000 route miles of fiber in the state, giving customers increased access to UPN's suite of products, including Ethernet, wavelength services, Internet access and dark fiber," said Jason W. Adkins, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at UPN. "In addition, the project will bring over 100 jobs to the region during the construction of the network."

"The Greater Omaha Chamber commends Unite Private Networks for making this major investment and creating jobs. An investment that strengthens our communications and IT connectivity is positive for our existing businesses as well as our ability to attract new companies to the area," said Mark Norman, the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership's senior director of client services.
