Xfone Expands Fiber Network to Burkburnett, Texas

LUBBOCK, TX - Competitive provider Xfone connected its first triple-play customer in Burkburnett, Texas, to its new PRIDE fiber-to-the-premises network. The PRIDE buildout, when completed, is expected to reach 19 new communities, giving Xfone a total of about 50,000 homes passed by fiber. The PRIDE project is using approximately $100 million in federal broadband-stimulus funding.

Xfone already serves five other Texas communities with voice, video and Internet services over fiber and says it is achieving "excellent adoption rates."
